Company Profile

In early 1930s, young Mr. Njoo Tjhay Kwee (Mr. Yeung Chai Huei) migrated to Pasuruan, Indonesia, from the impoverished Nan An, Fujian Province China to be a street hawker selling drinks. In June 15, 1935, Mr. Yeung founded a small factory "SINA” to begin making ginger candy. SINA in Chinese means New Asia. Sindu Amritha, the indonesian name of the factory is derived from Sanskrit, meaning the River of Life or River of Nectar. The names encompass the founder’s belief in the healthy nature of ginger candies and his hope in his motherland.

For nearly nine decades now, SINA ginger candies are still made with the same traditional recipes using fresh and natural ingredients, bringing you the benefits of ginger in a delicious, spicy and sweet flavor.

Surviving through many hardships including the World War II, the ginger candy business managed to thrive and expand worldwide through hard work and dedication. In 1976, the global sales and distribution headquarters was setup in Hong Kong with the aim of further expanding the ginger candy market worldwide. SINA brand ginger candy is mainly sold in oriental and health food stores worldwide. We also make OEM or white label brands for various reputable gourmet ginger candy brands in the United States, Germany, Sweden, Thailand and Brazil. Our products are now exported to over twenty countries internationally .

We improve our competitiveness by continuous investment in research and development and by introducing the latest and the best food production systems from Germany. To date SINA Ginger Candy is well known as both an Indonesian brand as well as a Hong Kong brand. Our mission is to spread this healthy, energetic and delicious candy to every country in the world.

As the saying goes, don't forget the well-diggers when drinking from it. In order to give back to the society, SINA takes an active role in charity by setting up some welfare schools and offering educational opportunities to poor students in Indonesia, which obtain praises from both local government and residents.
